The Super League C fixture between Hamediehs and Kraafontein this coming Saturday in Kraaifontein is a must-win with a bonus point for Hamediehs.

Hamediehs are currently on 56 points and a five-pointer will make them the log leaders, one point in front of current log-leaders Van der Stel-Evergreens (VDE) on 60 points.

On Saturday Hamediehs fell short in Paarl where they could only manage to win by 21-16 against Albions and only bagged four points. The encounter against Kraaifontein will be their last league match before the Top Six starts.

Since the beginning of the league in April, VDE were the trendsetters but they stumbled against Macassar and Scottsdene Central and could only manage four points in most of their matches.

The top six teams who will be vying to be crowned Top Six champions are: VDE, Hamediehs, Macassar, Kraaifontein, Goodwood and Pniel-Villagers and the point difference between these teams are marginal.

the matches

The two teams finishing in position one and two are automatically in the semi-finals, which will be home games for both of them, while teams in position three to six will play quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals team in position three will play against team in position six and team in position four against team in position five. The semi-finals will be played on a neutral ground and will be contested between team in position 1 against the lowest ranked team winner (A or B) and team in position 2 versus the highest ranked team winner (A or B).

The final will be between the winners of the semi-finals, also on a neutral ground.

The two teams going through to the finals will automatically progress to Super League B while the others will compete again in Super League C in 2024.
