Milnerton police this week confirmed they are investigating the murder of an Uber driver and the attempted murder of a security guard.
Police say the driver, who was shot dead over the weekend, was in his private capacity at the time of the attack.
The 35-year-old victim lived around the corner from where the incident happened, a Milnerton police spokesperson says, adding that the matter is being investigated and all leads are being followed up.
According to media reports, the attack happened on Saturday in Summer Greens.
Police are also investigating a case of attempted murder following an attack on an alarm company security guard early Monday morning.
This comes after unidentified men blew up a drop safe and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident happened just after midnight near the Spar store on the corner of Loxton and Millvale roads in Milnerton.
While attempting to escape, the men opened fire on a security guard who gave chase. No arrests have yet been made.
