The Touched By Style Community (TBS) organisation’s latest project is well underway as they started shooting their 5th community based movie.
The movie June’s first scenes were shot on 27 August.
According to Norton Ngatche from TBS the latest movie gives opportunities to many talented young people from communities like Delft and Belhar. “We want to create opportunities for everyone and with this project we are giving more youngsters the chance to be in a production of this kind,” says Ngatche.
Michaela Jackson (19) plays the title role of June Jason, who goes out of her way to take revenge on The Black Hats, a gang terrorizing the community. Ngatche says people can expect some great action scenes when the movie is released.
One of the first-time actors from The Hague in Delft, Bernadine Davids, says she is excited to be able to do something that she never thought would happen. “It is a dream that came true. The cast was wonderful and the producers made me feel comfortable. I work as a waitress and doing the stunts and gun scenes were great,” says Davis.
Davis says she feels there is more talent in the communities that still need to be unearthed.
June will be release at the end of January 2023.
