Provincial police this morning (Wednesday 5 April) confirmed that the body of 16-year-old Phillip Volschenk from Brackenfell was found yesterday afternoon next to the railway line in Stikland.

Volschenk was reported as missing on Monday.

According to a report by Missing Children SA, he was last seen at the train station in Brackenfell Boulevard.

“The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated and a death inquest case docket has been registered,” said Colonel André Traut, a police spokesperson.

Police did not reveal the cause of death, but TygerBurger learned that an autopsy is underway to confirm the cause of death.
