A 15-year-old Belhar boy was arrested for being in
possession of 112 dagga cigarettes yesterday (Wednesday 18 July).
Metro Police spokesperson Ruth Solomons says they received a
tip-off from a community member.
“Just before 17:00, officers on patrol in the area received
a tip-off. They went to the location given and found a young male fitting the
description provided. They noticed that he was a minor and so transported him
to Belhar Police Station.
“The boy’s mother was also called to the police station,”
says Solomons.
She explains that upon searching the 15-year-old, officers
found the dagga cigarettes in his possession: “He was handed over to police.”
