Milnerton man gets 15 years for robbery

Police say the 28-year-old Brooklyn man who went on a robbing spree will spend the next 15 years behind bars.

A knife-wielding robber who went on a four-day robbing spree has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars.

According to a report from Milnerton police, Corbyn Clarkson (28) from Brooklyn was found guilty on four counts of robbery and sentenced to serve 15 years for each crime. The sentences will run concurrently.

Police spokesperson, Captain Adriana Chandler, says Clarkson committed these robberies between June and July last year.

“He would threaten the victims with a knife and rob them of their personal belongings.  All the crimes were committed in the Milnerton area. The investigating officer ensured that proper procedures and investigation took place and opposed bail at every court appearance.”

Milnerton police cluster commander, Major-General Aneeqah Jordaan commended the investigating officer for a job well done in securing a good sentence.

“Although the suspect had no prior convictions, he received the maximum sentence.  This is an indication that if you do the crime, you will do the time,” she says.
