A massive fire along the R27 brought traffic to a standstill last week as thick smoke clouded motorists’ vision. Thanks to the swift response of the Milnerton Fire Station, the blaze was successfully contained, preventing further devastation.
Local ward councillor Anthony Benadie thanked the fighters at Milnerton Fire Station for their swift action.
In a true display of community spirit, local businesses and residents stepped up to support the firefighters. Paddocks Spar, the Milnerton Ridge Neighbourhood Watch, and generous residents quickly donated refreshments, ensuring the exhausted crews stayed hydrated and energised. Adding to this heartfelt effort, Lion Christiana Groenewoud from the Milnerton Lions Club delivered energy bars to the fire station in response to an ongoing call for supplies for those battling fires in the area.
“Always willing to help out where we can! With thanks to contributors from Royal Ascot who responded alongside us.”
