A 13-year-old teen from Durbanville has made South Africa proud by winning not only one, but two international titles — Miss Princess Teen Universe 2025 and Junior Top Model of the World 2025 to 2026 — at the global competition held in Turkey.

Mila Meyer began her modelling journey just over a year ago when she joined ACE Models Durbanville under the guidance of her coach, Bianca Edwards.

Since then, she has achieved remarkable success, collecting numerous awards and titles that reflect her dedication, poise and passion for the industry.

Beyond the stage, Mila loves giving back. She has been collecting soft toys to donate to children battling cancer and tuberculosis, spreading comfort and hope through small acts of kindness, says her grandmother, Miranda Meyer.

“During her year of reign as Miss Princess Teen Universe, she hopes to encourage others to join her in making a difference — supporting communities and children wherever there is a need,” she says.

Challenges

Mila’s journey, however, is much more than crowns and titles. Mila was born with auditory processing disorder, a condition that makes speech and language processing challenging. At the age of seven, she struggled to form full sentences and often withdrew from speaking altogether.

“Through the support, acceptance and sisterhood she found at ACE Models, Mila’s confidence began to shine. She now not only speaks with confidence, but she comfortably addresses audiences on the microphone and answers judges’ questions with grace.

“The feedback she receives is often that her answers are refreshingly honest and beautifully authentic. Mila has a heart of gold and it’s this genuine, kind nature that has captured the hearts of so many and helped her earn her crowns even now on international level,” her grandmother says.

In April this year Mila entered her first national competition, Miss Junior South Africa, where she earned multiple awards including Miss Congeniality and Overall Senior Face of South Africa — leading to her selection to represent her country on the international stage.

Anything is possible

Mila’s journey is one of resilience, courage, and compassion. From a young girl who once found it difficult to speak, to now holding two international crowns, she stands as a shining example that with determination, kindness and belief in yourself anything is possible.

“Mila will be using this year of reign to help with various charities. She has recently collect 122 soft toys that we handed out to children with cancer and we also handed out 40 gifts and soft toys to children with tuberculosis. As an interior designer, I assisted with the renovation of a library at the hospital for these children,” Meyer says.
