A memorial service for popular Afrikaans gospel singer and TV and radio personality, Pastor Ivan Siegelaar, will be held in Goodwood on Tuesday (7 March).
According to a statement by Tygerberg 104fm, Siegelaar died at the age of 46 at Groote Schuur Hospital on Thursday (2 March) following a long battle with cancer.
Siegelaar was born in Cape Town on 3 August 1970, into a family of four of whom he was the youngest.
His singing talent was only discovered later in life while working at a local hospital. He was sponsored to go for voice training and his incredible cross-over classical style opened the door for many singing engagements across the City.
The memorial service will be held at the AFM Church, on the corner of Frans Conradie Drive and Vasco Boulevard in Goodwood at 19:00.
An offering will be taken in support of the family.
