A Melkbosstrand woman was shot by a suspect during a house robbery.
Milnerton Cluster police spokesperson Sergeant Nicolette Visagie says at about 01:30 this morning (26 February) the woman’s domestic worker was smoking a cigarette outside the home when she was approached by three men who forced her into the house.
The domestic worker and her boyfriend were tied up and the robbers gained access to the main house. She says the owner and his wife tried to escape but the robbers opened fire hitting the woman in the leg and the man had a bullet graze his face. The suspects fled the scene with laptops, cellphones and firearms.
The couple were also tied up but managed to free themselves and contact police. Visagie says the couple were taken to hospital.
