The body of an unknown man was discovered in a lagoon in
Milnerton on Tuesday 7 August, police say.
Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut, provincial police
spokesperson, says the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are still
being investigated.
“It is suspected that he drowned,” Traut says.
The news of the body was also reported on the Milnerton
Crime Watch Facebook page.
According to the page, police were on the scene awaiting the
arrival of a mortuary van. It says detectives kept the scene under control.
One user mentioned that the forensic pathology van and
ambulance were driving towards the lagoon at about 16:45.
“I saw some commotion there this afternoon, and what
appeared to be something in a big plastic bag. Thought as much,” another user
wrote.
An inquest docket has been registered.
