A 29-year-old man handed himself over to police two days after allegedly stabbing his brother, who died as a result of his injuries.
According to Captain Daphne O’Reilly, spokesperson of Elsies River police, the 32-year-old victim and his brother, both from Elsies River, got into an argument which led to the stabbing incident.
O’Reilly says police were called to Tygerberg Hospital on Tuesday 15 November at 11:50, where they were taken to the deceased and found he had sustained multiple stab wounds that resulted in his death.
“When officers arrived at the hospital they were unaware of what had occurred and what had led to the deceased sustaining several stab wounds. However, when the deceased’s brother handed himself over to police, the circumstances surrounding the death were made clear,” O’Reilly says.
She adds the brother of the deceased was arrested and charged with murder.
