A man, believed to be in his 40s, was killed in an alleged hit-and-run on Tygerberg Road close to Richwood this morning (29 June).
According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, their paramedics were dispatched to the scene at around 07:50.
Upon arrival the paramedics found the body of a man lying in the middle of the road.
They assessed the patient and found that he had sustained several serious injuries and showed no signs of life.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead at approximately 08:01,” said Meiring.
The vehicle in question was apparently not found on the scene.
Local authorities will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
