Goodwood police arrested a 30-year-old man for two housebreaking incidents.
On Saturday 27 January at about 01:00 a Betsie Verwoerd Street complainant woke up and immediately realised that her laptop was not in its normal place. She viewed video footage and saw how three suspects entered her house through a sliding door and stole household items, her laptop and cellphones.
On Sunday 28 January at about 03:00, the complainant again woke up when she heard a noise inside her garage. She again viewed the footage and saw that the suspects of the previous morning were at it again. They forced open the garage door and were passing stolen goods over the wall.
According to Capt Wayne Theunis, communications officer at Goodwood police, she alerted Goodwood police and Goodwood Armed Patrols. Members responded and caught one of the suspects red-handed while the others fled the scene.
The suspect appeared in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court.
