A man believed to be in his 40s was killed in a train incident at the Bellville Railway Station on Wednesday evening (6 September), says ER24 spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen.
She says when their paramedics arrived on the scene around 18:15, the man was lying on the platform next to the train.
“Despite paramedics’ best efforts to resuscitate the man, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.”
Van Huyssteen says it is unclear whether the man fell from the train.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known to our paramedics, but the police and local authorities were on scene for further investigations.”
