A 28-year-old man has died following an accident on Contermanskloof Road on Monday (8 May).
Shortly before 18:00, TygerBurger saw police vehicles gather near the intersection of Malibongwe Drive and Contermanskloof Road and a body on the verge of the road.
Durbanville police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Theo Fisher, says shortly before 17:00 a vehicle hit a man trying to cross the road.
He says the 28-year-old man was declared dead on the scene and police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
“In cases like this the motorist is not arrested because there was no intention to kill another person. Police, however, do investigate the circumstances around the incident.”
