A 21-year-old Ruyterwacht woman was arrested for possession of mandrax to the street value of R850 000 on Wednesday 10 January.

Elsies River police spokeswoman, Daphne O’Reilly, says police members conducted a search in Carnavon Street, following an intensive investigation into alleged illegal activities at the address.

“The woman, who was in possession of 17 000 mandrax tablets, is scheduled to make a court appearance at Goodwood Magistrate’s Court today on charges of dealing in drugs.

“The circumstances surrounding the discovery of the drugs are still under investigation, and the possibility of more arrests is not ruled out,” says O’Reilly.

Anyone with information on illegal activities can phone their local police station or the Crime stop number 086001011 or SMS 32211.
