Drug bust on local farm – Brackenfell police arrest two men near Bottelary Road

A joint operation saw the swift arrest of a known drug dealer on a farm near Bottelary Road.

On Thursday, 7 November Brackenfell police, in collaboration with the police Drone Unit and Law Enforcement, carried out an intelligence-led operation on the farm. 

“The operation targeted a known suspect with a history of drug dealing and possession, who has been a significant threat to the local farming community,” says a police spokesperson.

During the raid, two men, aged 35 and 59, were arrested on charges of drug dealing, possession of illegal substances that included tik and Mandrax, and resisting arrest. 

Both suspects are currently in custody at Brackenfell Police Station and are due to appear in Kuilsriver Magistrates’ Court today (11 November)  facing charges related to drug trafficking, possession, and resisting arrest.

“This operation is part of Brackenfell police’s ongoing efforts to enhance community safety in the lead-up to the festive season, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining a drug-free and secure environment for all residents,” says station commander Col Jakobus Marthinus.
