Why this work matters
This maintenance forms part of the City’s proactive infrastructure upgrade programme to ensure future water supply continuity and reduce water loss.
Work has been scheduled to minimise disruption to water supply where possible.
Safety notice
All maintenance sites are construction zones and off-limits to the public.
Potential delays
Maintenance work can sometimes be more complex than anticipated, which may extend completion times.
After restoration
For a short period after supply is restored, water may appear discoloured or milky due to trapped air in pipes. If left to stand in a glass, the water will clear and return to normal.
Preparation
Store water in advance in clean, sealed containers.
Keep taps closed to prevent water loss and damage when supply returns.
Plan ahead and schedule activities around maintenance times.
Reduce consumption during extended maintenance periods.
