Love & Hope steps up as stationery struggles persist

With the 2025 academic year now in full swing, stationery woes have continued to plague many families across the city.

But for local non-profit Love & Hope their calls for donations will see them able to provide much-needed stationery to children this term.

Thanks to a donation of several boxes of stationery from Penflex, the organisation is now planning a handover to children in need.

Founded in 2023 by husband and wife team Lauren and Marco Pekeur, they have already started the year with several charitable outreaches.

“Love & Hope had a project on stationery and we reached out to Penflex at the beginning of January. On Saturday 25 January, Penflex made contact with me and asked if we could collect. To our surprise they really, really came through with their donations and from team Love & Hope NPO we would like to thank Penflex Killarney Gardens for helping us help kids in need. This really is a boost to any kids’ start of school year and we appreciate Penflex,” says Lauren.

“We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. We are currently waiting to have a meeting with a local school so we can start distributing the stationery to children in need.”
