Comedian Kevin Fraser is set to light up the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Saturday 13 December at 20:00 with his latest comedy spectacular, Heart of the World.

Fraser, known for his infectious blend of stand-up, dance, and cultural commentary, promises an evening that celebrates what makes Africa truly special.

“They say the world has seven continents, but only one has a heartbeat: Africa,” explains Fraser.

It’s that pulse that reminds us how to feel, how to dance through difficulty, and how to laugh through pain.

The show isn’t your typical comedy gig. Fraser — part comedian, part cultural interpreter — takes audiences on a satirical journey across South Africa.

Expect his trademark “entertainment comedy” style: ranting, raving, belly-laugh commentary, and sporadic dancing that has made him a household name.

“In the Heart of the World, a goat might interrupt your set, but people will never interrupt your purpose,” Fraser quips. “Africa is where we laugh not because life is easy, but because life is ours.”

Career

Fraser’s comedy career took off after moving from Durban to Johannesburg in 2013, where he quickly became a festival favourite.

His relocation to Australia in 2014 saw him launch Cream Kulture, his entertainment brand, before pivoting to comedy in 2015. His viral content, featuring quintessentially South African characters and expat tales, has built a global following across continents.

This Cape Town show features a special collaboration with singer Siki Jo-An, finalist on The Voice SA. “I can’t wait for people to hear the song we’ve created together,” says Fraser. “It adds a whole new aspect to the project, beyond the laughs.”

Fraser’s previous tours — The Minister of Entertainment, Africa is a Feeling, and Imagination — sold out locally before touring the UK, Middle East, Europe, and Australia to critical acclaim.

The show contains adult themes.

Tickets start from R180.
