Illegal firearms seized and man (28) arrested in Brackenfell

Brackenfell police last night confiscated a cache of firearms and arrested a 28-year old man in Protea Village for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition and illegal explosives.

man in Protea Village for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition
and illegal explosives.

“Members
working in the Brackenfell police Community Service Centre received information
about illegal firearms being kept at a residence in Protea Village. A search
warrant was obtained and at approximately 19:50 on Monday evening Brackenfell
police entered and searched the premisesm,” says police spokesperson Captain FC
van Wyk.

The following
items were found and confiscated by police: 16 Magazines,
5 firearms (pistols) with serial numbers filed off, 1 Rusty revolver, 1
Shotgun, 1 Silencer, 1 Telescope, 1 Stun grenade.

The arrested
28 year old suspect was detained and is due to appear in the Blue Downs
Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. The investigation continues.
