Traffic Services officials have issued a warning to motorists to be cautious on Cape Town roads during the rainfall this morning (27 January).
According to a report from Traffic Services spokesperson, Maxine Bezuidenhout, a portion of Amandel Road in Kuils River was closed this morning as several vehicles broke down.
She says one lane has been re-opened and calls on motorists to exercise caution amid the downpour.
“Several smaller vehicles broke down as a result of water getting into the vehicle, so we are calling on motorists to be extra careful this morning,” she says.
Meanwhile several residents in Groenvallei in Bellville have reported that their homes have been flooded. Pictures of the flood damage are circulating on social media and surrounding residents have offered assistance.
