Police are in pursuit of four men following a cash-in-transit heist at N1 City shopping centre on Wednesday morning.
Bothasig police spokesperson Warrant Officer Jacques Mostert says at 08:30, the four suspects robbed a cash-in-transit van which was offloading cash which was to be deposited at an ATM at the shopping centre.
The suspects overwhelmed security guards and fled the scene rapidly with an undisclosed amount of money.
Mostert also confirmed that nobody was injured in the incident, but that heavy weaponry was used, including AK-47s.
No arrests have been made as yet.
Meanwhile, police have issued a word of caution about the sharing of an image supposedly related to the robbery.
