Four people, three men and a woman, were killed when their vehicle crashed into a tree and burst into flames on Cecil Morgan Drive in Brackenfell on Saturday evening around 18:00.
The driver and the passenger of the White BMW died in the fire, while the four passengers in the back were pulled from the burning car by other motorists who passed, Kobus Kotze told TygerBurger.
Two patients rescued from the burning car died on the scene, while the other two sustained serious injuries.
“They were treated and stabilized on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals”, said Kotze.
All authorities remain on the scene and the road is expected to remain closed in both directions until about 22:30
