A suspicious vehicle fleeing from the Metro Police were involved in a collision with a bus in Eerste River Way in Blue Downs on Wednesday morning (11 October).
Metro Police spokesperson, Zelda Martin, says while driving along Rotterdam Road, two Metro Police officers noticed a white Corsa Lite turning into the road at speed.
“The officers gave chase and tried to stop the vehicle, but it collided with a bus in Eerste River Way.”
She says the two occupants fled on foot, but officers managed to arrest the driver (30) who was also found in possession of two firearms.
“He was detained on charges of reckless and negligent driving, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and pointing a firearm,” says Martin.
