Firearms, ammo found in Bishop Lavis

A small hand grenade, smoke grenade and various other types of ammunition were found buried in an open field in Montana, Bishop Lavis today.

hand grenade, smoke grenade and various other types of ammunition were found buried
in an open field in Montana, Bishop Lavis today.

Bishop
Lavis police made the discovery after following up on information they received
from the public about hidden ammunition and firearms on the corners of Pallotti
Road and Robert Sobukwe Road.

Provincial
police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk, says officers went to the field and
found a ceiling panel covering a piece of sand.

“The
officers started digging where the panel was and found a 9mm pistol, a R5,an AK47,
R1 magazines and various other types of ammunition for these firearms.”

Van Wyk
says an enquiry was registered for investigation.
