Firearm found thanks to community

After searching the residence on Thursday 24 August, a 36-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a 9mm pistol with 14 live rounds as well as 10 mandrax tablets and 10 dagga sticks.


The unity that
the police want to form with residents was visible when Elsies River
community members helped find illegal firearms at a home in the area, police
say in a statement.

After searching the residence on Thursday 24 August, a
36-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a 9mm pistol
with 14 live rounds as well as 10 mandrax tablets and 10 dagga sticks. The man
is expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court once he has been
charged.

Police encourage residents
to share information on any illegal activity taking place in their area by
calling the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

that claim the lives of innocent residents, they say.
