A truck which is on fire is causing huge smoke clouds to hang over the N1 highway.
Motorists have reported the truck is causing traffic towards Paarl to slow down as they approach Joostenbergvlakte.
According to the Cape Town Freeway Management Twitter feed, the road has been closed and motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
