Several factory buildings were damaged in a blaze on Wednesday evening (1 November) in Killarney Gardens.
Theo Layne, spokesperson for the City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services, says their services responded to a blaze at three factories in Monza Street, Killarney Gardens at 18:57.
He says only one person sustained injuries.
“An adult man, an occupant of one of the factories, sustained third-degree burns,” Layne says.
He says a total of six fire engines and four water tankers with 40 firefighters battled the blaze.
The cause has not yet been determined.
