A burning vehicle has ignited a vegetation fire on Table Mountain.
According to a report from the City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Liesl Moodie, officials received an alert about the fire along Tafelberg Road at 14:45.
She says the City’s firefighters assisted by seasonal firefighters and ground crews from Table Mountain National Parks attended the blaze.
“There are currently three choppers water bombing. The cause of the fire was a motor vehicle that was burning, which ignited the vegetation.”
