A female pedestrian sustained injuries on Thursday morning (16 October) after being knocked down by a vehicle in Edgemead.
District Watch, a private security group that shared details on its Facebook page, said its central station had received a report of the incident, which occurred around 08:00 at the Edgemead Drive-Settlers Drive intersection.
Armed-response officers visited the scene where they were met by other security companies.
The pedestrian was receiving first aid for the injuries she had sustained. The District Watch officer requested that central station dispatch paramedics and the police, the security group reported.
A photo was shared of the site where a dent in the bonnet of the vehicle is clearly visible.
The Bothasig police attended the scene. Paramedics transported the patient to a hospital, District Watch wrote.
Lt Col Jeremey Pieterse, Bothasig police station commander, confirmed that the accident did take place.
“A pedestrian was knocked and sustained head injuries, and was taken to the Karl Bremer Hospital in an ambulance,” Pieterse said.”
The vehicle was removed by a towing service company.
