Emergency crews responded to a crash this afternoon (Sunday 30 November) when a vehicle left the roadway on the N7 and landed on the R45 Hopefield Road near Malmesbury. One person died at the scene, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

West Coast Medical Rescue was the first to come across the scene and immediately called for assistance. Metro EMS arrived quickly and provided critical on-site treatment. “Our crews assisted on scene stabilizing the injured before they were taken to a nearby hospital for further care,” said Metro EMS spokesperson.

Unfortunately, one patient succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
