The Goodwood Spiritual Crime Prevention Forum will be hosting the Tygerberg Sub-District Spiritual Crime Prevention monthly meeting on Thursday 4 September, from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Every Nation Church, N1 City.

Attendees will be welcomed with refreshments on arrival, and registration will take place inside the hall.

An information table will be available, and a published book on crime will also be on sale.

Rev Nico Jerry Louw, a leader in the initiative, explains the importance of these meetings.

“The Spiritual Crime Prevention structure exists alongside the Community Policing Forum (CPF), but focuses on the spiritual nature of crime. It allows churches, Jewish organisations, Muslim groups, Rastafarian communities, and other faith-based ministries to become actively involved in fighting and preventing crime.”

He adds that this approach provides both an institutional platform—bringing together various faith-based structures—and a practical, operational method of tackling spiritual-related crime.

“There are areas of crime that the CPF cannot fully address, but which can be dealt with through spiritual crime prevention,” says Louw.

The Goodwood team, led by Louw in partnership with representatives from the local police station, is encouraging the community to participate.

The meeting will offer valuable insight into how faith-based organisations and institutions can work alongside law enforcement to build safer communities.

The public is invited to attend. Contact Ilze Stemmet, Secretary of Goodwood SCP, at 072 476 1958, or Sgt Lucille Fortune, Goodwood Police Coordinator, at 082 499 3944 for more information.
