Factory burns down in Epping

“The entire factory is severely damaged including the manufacturing, storage and display area.”


A factory in Dacres Avenue in Epping caught fire on Tuesday morning.

 The City’s Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Theo Layne, says they responded to the fire in the Industrial area at the Helderberg/Home Depot Clearance Centre just after 09:00.

“Currently (by 10:40 on Tuesday) two fire fighting vehicles are on the scene. We have eight fire engines, two water tankers, a rescue vehicle, a hydraulics platform and a breathing aspirator’s vehicle.”

Layne says there are no injuries reported.

“The entire factory is severely damaged including the manufacturing, storage and display area.”

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
