A 30-year-old man from Elsies River was arrested on Sunday (19 February) when officers pounced on his home in 25th Avenue.
According to a report from provincial police, officers of Operation Combat followed up on information that illegal firearms and drugs were being stored at the property.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says during the search various firearms including a 303 rifle with a telescope were confiscated. In addition police confiscated 130 grams of tik and 100 whole mandrax tablets.
The man will now appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of drugs and an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
