A 65-year-old man died and six other
people were injured in a motor-vehicle accident in Brackenfell on Saturday
evening (16 November).
The accident occurred on the corner
of Brackenfell Boulevard and Protea Road in Protea Heights at about 18:20.
According to Brackenfell police
station commander Col Jakobus Marthinus three vehicles were involved in the
collision, one of which was a tow truck.
The deceased, a driver of one of the
vehicles, died on the scene while the injured were transported to a nearby
hospital.
A case of culpable homicide was
opened by police as it is alleged one of the vehicles, not specified, had
skipped the red light at the busy intersection.
