The annual Santa Meet-and-Greet Christmas Drive is set to take place again this year in Edgemead, said local resident Angelique Pretorius, owner of Angels Home Bakes, who co-organises the event.

The drive, now in its fourth year, is described as a heart-warming community event that brings festive cheer to local families.

“This joyful tradition has become a highlight for children and families in the area, and we are excited to make this year even more memorable,” Pretorius said.

“It is a community-driven celebration filled with Christmas mince pies, various shortbreads and baked goodies, and magical moments. This year there are going to be more motorcycles, and Santa is known as the Dancing Santa.”

The event, organised by her and partner Peter van de Venter, takes place on Saturday 13 December, when Santa will be making a magical detour from the North Pole, arriving in Edgemead escorted by a convoy of motorcycles.

It takes place at the West Coast Diner in Koornhoop Street, Edgemead, starting at 14:00.
