Drugs worth R60 000 were seized in a car in the Bloubergstrand area last week – 15 bags of crystal meth and 140 bags of cocaine.
The instincts of two police officers paid off during crime prevention on 24 August when they observed a suspicious vehicle and decided to investigate further.
“The occupant of the vehicle appeared nervous when he spotted the officers approaching.
The male was searched, but nothing was found on him. The officers then searched the vehicle and found bags containing crystal meth and cocaine.
The suspect then tried to bribe the officers. He was arrested and taken to Table View Police Station.
“Two phones and cash were also found in his possession,” Capt Adriana Chandler told TygerBurger.
The suspect, aged 38 and from Table View, will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court for dealing in drugs, once charged.
Station commander Col Junaid Alcock has welcomed the arrest.
