Maitland police made a huge bust this morning (Friday 20 January) which resulted in the confiscation of drugs including tik and cocaine with a street value of R182 000 and they made several arrests.
Constable Lorencial Johnson, police spokesperson, told TygerBurger that around 08:45 today members attached to the Cape Town Cluster Crime Prevention Unit conducted a search at a house in Church Street, Brooklyn after information from a reliable source was obtained about possible drug dealing at the premises.
“The search resulted in the arrests of three Nigerian nationals inside the premises after the discovery of 166g tik, 37g cocaine, R1 640 in cash and various cell phones that could possibly be stolen,” Johnson says.
The three suspects, aged between 32 and 36 years, will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday 23 January.
Johnson says the men face charges of dealing in drugs and possession of suspected stolen property.
