A 42-year-old man was arrested near the entrance to Hillcrest Estate outside Durbanville last night after selling 40 g of cocaine valued at R30 000 to an undercover agent.

The man was arrested at about 21:30 in an undercover operation alongside the Tygerberg Valley Road (M13) near the entrance to Hillcrest Estate, said Lieutenant Colonel André Traut, Western Cape police spokesperson.

The value of the other drugs that were discovered must still be determined.

The arrest led to the search of his vehicle, where a further eight packets of cocaine, three packets of tik and one unit of rock were found and seized, Traut said.

According to Arno Smith, farm manager of Hillcrest Estate, he was informed by the security guard at the entrance that the arrest took place next to the road, just outside the entrance to the farm.

The value of the drugs that were discovered must still be determined. Traut said this is all information about the incident that the police will disclose at this stage.

The suspect will appear in Bellville magistrates court on Monday on a charge of dealing in drugs.
