A resident of Delft, who may well be the oldest man in the
world, is celebrating his 114th birthday today, 8 May.

The life of Fredie Blom, born in 1904, from Voorbrug is
being celebrated by friends and family, as well as acting Premier, Albert
Fritz, and Ward 20 Councillor, Courtney van Wyk, this afternoon.

TygerBurger popped in at his home on Sunday to take over
cake and candles as a build up to his birthday.

Just a month ago a 112-year-old Japanese man, Masazo Nonaka,
was recognised as the oldest man in the world according to Guinness Book of
World Records, but this fact is probably incorrect with Uncle Fredie exceeding
that age by a whopping two years.

TygerBurger contacted the world record team to inform them
of Fredie Blom, but we are still awaiting a response.

Read all about it in tomorrow’s TygerBurger.
