Two suspects in Delft have been arrested for possession of drugs, abalone and a prohibited firearm on two separate instances on Wednesday 20 December. 

According to Mfuleni police spokesperson, Captain Nomathemba Muavha, the police cluster’s crime combating unit executed search warrants at Leiden in Delft as part of a crime intelligence driven operation around 12:00 on Wednesday 20 December. 

“About R550 worth of mandrax tablets, 20 units of abalone and two stops of dagga were confiscated in one house,” confirms Muavha. 

A 47-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs and abalone. 

Furthermore, Muavha confirms that a prohibited firearm was found in a different house in Leiden. 

“A prohibited firearm with live ammunition was found inside a cupboard in the house,” she says. A 24-year-old male was arrested for possession
of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.”
