Set4Dance Community Outreach is made up of a group of up-and-coming dancers who are determined to learn this form of art, and take it to a higher level.
This community-based dance school, situated in Mitchells Plain, is an open-enrolment school for children and adults from ages five and older.
Set4Dance Community Outreach is affiliated to the Sport Aerobic, Fitness and Hip Hop Federation (SASAFF). SASAFF is an affiliated member of Sascoc and the department of sport, art and culture and accredited to award Protea Colours for Sport Aerobics, Fitness and Hip Hop.
Recently, a cohort of dancers from Set4Dance participated in their first international competition.
Hip Hop Junior Crew Da-Sturbin-Da Peace, Duo Street Sxldiers and six solo dancers, qualified at the 2024 SASAFF Championships held in Cape Town in June and represented South Africa at the 2024 World Championships in Obidos, Portugal.
Da-Sturbin-Da Peace and Duo Street Sxldiers progressed to the semi final stage of the competition, while solo dancer Zinzi Rhodes won a silver medal in the Youth solo battles.
Jane Smith was placed in the Top 8 in the Youth solo battles.
The dance programme is based in Portlands.
