Dagga dealers nabbed in Blue Downs

Mfuleni police confiscate dagga with an estimated street value of R2.4 million.

A drug deal in an informal settlement near Blue Downs came to an abrupt end as Mfuleni police caught alleged drug dealers in the act.

Mfuleni police spokesperson, Captain Nomathemba Muavha says during the early hours of today (Friday 17 March) officers were patrolling the Green Park informal settlement when they saw several cars and a crowd of people in an open field.

“When approaching the crowd, they started getting into cars and also running in different directions. Big bags were found lying on the ground and two people were caught. Upon investigation the bags contained dagga.”

She says a total of 64 bags of dagga were found with an estimated street value of R2.4 million.

Two suspects aged 34 and 46 were arrested and will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court this morning on drug dealing charges.
