Two suspects were arrested by Table View police last week after they were spotted by an armed response officer while on patrol.
One of the suspects already had an arrest warrant issued in his name.
“Our officer was driving past a local shopping centre precinct when he noticed an unidentified person standing next to the fencing. When he stopped to investigate the officer noticed a second suspect inside the property,” says Charnel Hattingh, group head of communications and marketing at Fidelity ADT.
The officer called for backup and the two suspects were detained and handed over to the police.
“On further investigation it was discovered that one suspect had tried to steal copper cables when they were interrupted by the armed response officer driving past. Both suspects were arrested on a charge of trespassing while one of the suspects already had a separate unrelated arrest warrant pending against him. Well done to our officer for spotting these suspects and making sure they end up behind bars,” says Hattingh
