The picturesque setting of Ons Huisie in Bloubergstrand played host to a heart-warming event, a 5 km fun run organised with a noble purpose.
Blankets collected during the fun run have found their purpose. They were handed to TLC Outreach Projects and TLC Street Ministry, marking the beginning of their winter drive to support the homeless community in the area.
This act of generosity promises to bring warmth and comfort to those most vulnerable during the cold winter months, highlighting the spirit of compassion and community.
“This community-driven initiative showcased the power of unity and compassion,” Colleen Petersen of TLC pointed out, “for runners of all ages and backgrounds came together to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.”
She said the outcome was overwhelming, with 100 blankets donated by participants very well received.
“The blankets were handed to TLC Outreach Projects and TLC Street Ministry to support their winter drive,” Petersen said. “They will hand the blankets out to the homeless community in the area. A big thank you to everyone who participated and donated a blanket towards this good cause.”
