The City of Cape Town confirmed that it has acquired the MWEB building at 100 Fairway Close in Goodwood, for use by the municipality.
The property was purchased from Spear REIT Limited, following Competition Commission approval in October 2024. The sale was finalised in November last year.
According to Spear, the transaction formed part of its capital recycling strategy, which involves disposing of selected commercial office assets.
The building, which previously housed Mweb’s head offices, is a modern, fully equipped facility featuring open-plan workspaces, CCTV, boardrooms, meeting areas, and a large canteen with a terrace. It also includes ample parking and infrastructure to support a 24-hour operational environment.
This purchase makes part of expanding the City’s portfolio of municipal properties in the northern suburbs.
