The City of Cape Town’s social development department has intervened following claims that young children are participating in sexual acts on the Milnerton beachfront.
This follows a social media report where a woman claims her neighbour witnessed a “scene of wanton debauchery” between children estimated to be aged between eight and 16.
According to the post, the children had removed some of their clothing and were engaging in masturbation, sodomy and other sexual acts in the afternoon.
The post has sparked concern among residents and a community meeting was called in Joe Slovo on Monday night.
Here it was revealed that some of the children are believed to be from Joe Slovo and City officials discussed this and other social issues with the community.
Local ward councillor Fabian Ah-Sing has also provided assistance by requesting patrols by Law Enforcement officers.
