Due to urgent infrastructure upgrades, there will be a disruption in the water supply to Dunoon, Killarney Gardens and Racing Park on Tuesday 6 December.

According to a statement by the City of Cape Town the disruption will be between 07:30 to 16:30.

Farouk Robertson, spokesperson for the water and sanitation department, says an additional take-off will be installed on the main water supply line to address the water supply and pressure issues experienced in these areas.

“Residents are kindly advised to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers. Businesses should ensure that their holding/storage tanks are sufficiently filled to meet their operational needs. Consumers are also requested to ensure that their taps are closed during this period to prevent any water wastage or damage when the water supply is restored.”

He says water tankers will be moving through the area to provide water for domestic consumption where required.

“The City apologises for any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that the water infrastructure is maintained at a level that will satisfy the needs of our customers at all times.”
